This course provides students with a theoretical foundation of psychological assessment. It will explore the importance of psychological assessment in applied settings and the cross-cultural,ethical, and social issues involved in assessment. This course will also provide students with a clear understanding of the DSM IV-TR (and the impending DSM V) as tools for understanding the psychological, social and biological contributors to mental health disorders.
